Welcome to our Term 1 Newsletter from the Interim Principal
Welcome to our Term 1 newsletter!
I hope you enjoy reading about all of the activities that have taken place this term. It has certainly been a busy one.
Our Year 7s seem to have settled in extremely well and it was lovely to see them confidently showing prospective Fairfield students around school during our sell out Open Events. It always amazes me how quickly they settle into life at FHS.
This term we have been celebrating Black History Month, National Poetry Day, raising money for MacMillan Cancer care and celebrating being nominated a Music Mark School.
Languages Week was a great success and it was so lovely to hear students and staff teaching each other words in home languages as well as second and third languages for some. We round off the term with our second residential trip with some Year 9 and 10 students heading to Barcelona to practice their language skills and soak up some culture – and hopefully autumn rays – before a well-deserved half term break.
I hope the students manage to rest over the half term break. They thoroughly deserve it.
With very best wishes,
Amanda Bridgewater
Interim Principal
