We are launching this fundraiser to enable FHS to support the children at school who do not have access to adequate technology for essential online home learning.
The Covid crisis has revealed widespread inequality of access to the technology needed for education, be it dongles, laptops, or functioning internet.
Let’s bridge the gap between the haves and the have-nots and give all of our children a fair chance to shine.
All money raised will be given to the FHS IT department to support the needs that they are presented with.
Thank you for donating if you can, and, just as importantly, for sharing and forwarding this appeal as widely as possible!
Please donate via our FundSurfer page.
Why the appeal?
Fairfield High School Parents Network have launched this fundraiser to provide the technology necessary for all students to access essential online learning at home.
The Covid crisis has revealed widespread inequality of access to the technology needed for education and this is affecting a surprisingly large number of our school community. Some can only access on-line learning on a Smartphone, or are sharing tech with siblings. Many other pupils are using out-dated hardware, or have no access to any computers or internet at all.
We aim to raise £5,000 in Stage 1 of the appeal to give to FHS IT department so that they can really begin to make a difference to students who are in dire need at our school.
We are initially launching this fundraiser to parents in the hope that they will donate and, just as importantly, SHARE THE APPEAL FAR AND WIDE. Please spread the word!! Would your extended family, people at your workplace, and wider networks be able to support us?
In the New Year we will be approaching businesses and large sponsors. If you can help or have any good ideas please contact us via email at [email protected] or via the Fairfield Parents Network Facebook page.
This goal of decent technology for every child at our school is achievable if we all make an effort to contribute.
Many, many thanks for your generosity and support. Please donate here if you can and share, share, share and forward wherever you can!
The Fairfield Parent Network (FPN) – who we are and what we do
The Fairfield Parent Network (FPN) is a group of parents who support the school when they put on events such as the Winter/Summer Galas, Community Iftar and spring Drama performance. It’s a great opportunity to get involved with the school, meet other parents and raise some money in the process.
We are not sure which school events will run this year and what our involvement might be but we want to be ready to help. Below is more info on how you can get involved.
There are several ways to get involved with the FPN:
- Donate: Cakes, drinks, food and secondhand uniform etc, for the FPN to sell at events
- Help to sell: Cakes, drinks, food and secondhand uniform etc, at school events
- Anything new: we are always on the look out for new ways in which to raise money and become more involved
Join our WhatsApp group:
We use this group to let parents know what help is needed and when. Email [email protected] with your name and mobile number and we’ll join you to this group.
Why join the FPN?:
We asked our current members why they joined the FPN….here is what they said:
“It’s a good laugh”
“You lose touch with school a bit when your kids go to Secondary school. Joining the FPN helped me to feel part of a school community again.”
“I get to go to school events even when my kids aren’t going because the FPN needs me, it’s good!”
“It’s nice to feel you’re helping the school.”
“I get to meet other parents with children in different year groups so it helps me to understand how things work.”
“When the parent network communicates with the school I feel that our opinions are listened to and valued.”
Any little way you can help is welcome! Please contact us:
