Choosing a direction in life can be one of the most challenging and confounding things we can do at any age. The landscape of education, training and employment opportunities that students need to steer through is more complex and more challenging than that faced by previous generations.
We are achieving 100% across all 8 Gatsby Benchmarks, one of only three schools across the West of England to have achieved this to date! These Benchmarks are a framework of guidelines that define the best careers provision in secondary schools. Please see the link below to our latest report for more details.
97% of our Year 11 students (2019-20) moved into Further Education, Employment, Training or Apprenticeships. For more details on destination data and subject choices, please see attachments below.
It is important to talk to your child about their career plans and encourage them to explore their options. We continually assess and evaluate our careers programme and update from the feedback we receive. Please take a moment to complete this short survey. We use this information to shape the school’s careers education programme.
Ofsted 2017: “You have expanded the opportunities for pupils and have made productive links with large local businesses. Pupils gain work experience and apprenticeships because of these.”
Fairfield High School is committed to providing a planned, fit for purpose Careers Education programme for all students in Years 7-11. Careers and Employability is accorded high priority within our school and seen as crucial in equipping our students to feel empowered and informed to make decisions regarding the opportunities and challenges of adult and working life.
Throughout their time with us, we ensure that students receive support and guidance with a comprehensive and varied Careers Education. Fairfield works closely with our linked governor and the Careers & Enterprise Company to measure our provision against the 8 Gatsby Benchmarks.
