Fairfield celebrates national school attendance award for improved attendance
Fairfield High School is celebrating a significant achievement after receiving a National School Attendance Award, placing it among the top 25% of the most improved FFT * secondary schools in England. The award recognises Fairfield’s progress in improving attendance, celebrating the journey made rather than simply the highest overall attendance rates.
Edel Cronin, Principal of Fairfield High School explains further: “We’ve been working as a community to improve attendance, recognising the importance of understanding the barriers that may prevent students from attending. Through investment in our attendance team, systems and wellbeing interventions, we are providing the right support to help students take positive steps towards improved attendance.
“This is a real team effort, and our ambition remains to build on this progress, helping our students develop the confidence, responsibility and creativity to thrive as global citizens.”
Fairfield remains committed to working in partnership with families and students to strengthen attendance further, ensuring every young person feels supported and has the best possible opportunity to learn, engage and thrive.
* FFT was established in 2001 as part of the Fischer Family Trust
