Maths visit to GKN Aerospace
The Maths Department recently took 16 students from Years 10 & 11 for an in-depth tour of facilities at GKN Aerospace, a major Bristol employer.
“I learnt many things on our trip to GKN Aerospace, including the different manufacturing processes used to construct a set of wings. For example, moulding, casting, & NDT. After going on this trip, I have developed a better understanding of Aeronautical Engineering. Our tour guides (Barry, Max & Preston) were very good in explaining the manufacturing process. They also gave me critical career information – including what would be an impressive starting salary!”
“We really enjoyed the trip to GKN Aerospace as we were introduced to many new ideas. Max, Barry & Preston were very nice & gave us an amazing tour. This has solidified our choice of pursuing Aeronautical Engineering in the future.”
Thank you to GKN Aerospace for this valuable experience.
