Langford Veterinary School Trip
Congratulations to the Year 10 students who successfully applied to attend the University of Bristol’s Veterinary School open day. During the visit the students toured the veterinary hospital at Langford and visited the farm. In the veterinary hospital they saw a wide range of hi-tech medical equipment and glimpsed an operation in action. On the working farm they observed the milking of the 180 strong herd of cattle and watched a newly born calf take its first steps. After lunch the students practiced suturing a wound in one of the teachings labs. This was all great to widen their horizons to the careers available to our future scientists but I think the greatest impact was made by the teaching ponies they visited.
