Celebrating the special relationship between charity Jacari with EAL students
On Wednesday 1st May the EAL Faculty celebrated its last Jacari session of the academic year, with some of our EAL students.
Jacari is a charity that works in Bristol and Oxford to support students with EAL. The students have been working with their Jacari tutors (who are students that volunteer), to develop their English skills. Together, they worked through booklets provided by Jacari, with tutors supporting students with homework as well as playing games such as ‘Connect 4’ and ‘Guess Who’.
Students have shared that they have enjoyed their time working with their Jacari tutors and found the support offered valuable. To end the last session the Jacari students presented their students with a certificate to recognise the progress that they have made since working together in November.
Thank you to all those involved. If you are interested in learning more about Jacari please visit their website: https://www.jacari.org/what-we-do
