Celebrating Science Week 2021 style

Science Week without the usual array of guest speakers, practical workshops and the Year 7 trip to the Big Bang Fair at the NEC, Birmingham, was a much quieter affair this year. This doesn’t mean we let it pass by without making the best of it within our own science lessons though!

We hosted a number of online events including two practical based shows from Peter at ‘Wonderstruck’. The first, Major Malfunction, discussed the practical dangers of strapping astronauts to a massive rocket and firing them into space and the second demonstrated the Energy and Force topic with a range of exciting demonstrations. A number of practical based activities were also completed by our students during the week also with lessons involving Heart Dissections and experimental investigations into the reactivity series of metals.
