Assembly cements collaboration with Ashley Down Old Boys Rugby Club
Fairfield welcomed James Hall, Chairman of Ashley Down Old Boys Rugby Club (Mini and Junior sections) for a special Year 9 celebration assembly, where he presented the school with a framed shirt to cement the partnership with the Rugby Club.
Since the beginning of September, when it became clear that the students were enjoying their school rugby lessons, the Year 9s took the next step by joining their local rugby club, Ashley Down Old Boys, based at LSC (Lockleaze Sports Centre). They have made impressive progress, training and playing every week, with two students, Aleem and Rubin, being scouted for the Bristol Bears Development sessions. The team has also had a highly successful season, winning their last six games.
The pupils include:
Otis , Denzel , Jay , Noah , Rubin, Aleem , David , Lex and Red.
