Year 7 & 8 students introduced to Careers Platform, Unifrog
Students in Years 7 and 8 have attended an assembly to officially launch the online Careers Platform utilised at Fairfield, called Unifrog. Across their five years with us, young people will continually utilise this platform for all things careers based.
Each young person will soon be receiving a ‘Welcome Email’ from Unifrog, and during Term 3’s PSHE lessons, they will be shown how to log onto the platform.
The platform has many uses, but one of the many features is the recording tool. This is where students can log activities they have been involved in, both inside and outside of school. They will also have the opportunity to log a range of enterprising skills they feel they have successfully demonstrated throughout the academic year.
Some examples of the enterprising skills we value here at Fairfield include: Communication, Problem Solving, Teamwork and Creativity. By the time they reach the end of Key Stage 3, the platform will provide information about Post 16 destinations and Apprenticeships.
Every student is already working hard to achieve examples of using ALL 11 enterprising skills by the end of the academic year. If they successfully manage to do this, their name will be entered into a prize draw of potentially winning a £20 gift voucher for Cabot Circus.
The aim is for ALL students to have a range of activities that they can be proud of and a skillset that will make them employable by the time they leave us in Year 11.
If any parents, carers or students have any questions surrounding the use of this platform, please feel free to contact Miss Thomas (Careers Lead) via email [email protected]
