Y10 visit to BIMM (Bristol and Irish institute of Modern Music)
Thursday 14th July saw Year 10 music students take a trip to BIMM (Bristol and Irish institute of Modern Music), which has developed artists such as George Ezra. The trip allowed students to get a greater understanding of career links and post 16 pathways within the subject, from a music techie to a performing/composer, as well as engaging in tutoring sessions from lecturers at the venue. They performed their own version of Don’t Stop Believing on a stage as an ensemble and also took part in a composition workshop, both of which are linked to their studies in Y11 on the GCSE course. The day was finished off by a performance from Gabriel Templar and his band, who we’re told have 1.7 million followers on TikTok.
“The students did so well. Some would have felt out of their comfort zone or were challenged by doing something new with new people, yet they didn’t let this phase them and continued to do Fairfield proud by showing off their knowledge and ability throughout the day. Very much the professionals”. Miss Herbert.
