Welcome to Term 4 from the Interim Principal

Dear Fairfield Families,
As we welcome more daylight and feel all the benefits that Spring brings, I am delighted to share with you the exciting happenings and achievements within Fairfield across recent weeks.
Our talented students dazzled audiences with their spectacular performance of Bugsy Malone. The dedication and passion displayed by our young actors, musicians, and crew members were truly commendable, not to mention the dedication of the staff involved. After months of work it was fantastic to see sold out audiences on both nights.
We have also had the opportunity to celebrate many international events in school, including World Book Day (WBD) and International Women’s Day (IWD). For WBD we saw many creative door decorations and fantastic outfits courtesy of the English Department. IWD saw assemblies for all year groups on this year’s theme of ‘Inspired Inclusion’. We hosted a workshop on public speaking, held a fundraising bake sale and saw an aligned FemSoc/LGBTQ+ club session on the icons who hold both intersections throughout history.
We were also thrilled to see our valued members of staff Mr Shand and Mr Francis who have dedicated themselves to Fairfield High School over many years recongised with parent nominations in the teacher category of the Horfield and Lockleaze Awards. Our Canteen staff were successfully awarded a 5 star hygiene rating in their annual review. Our students also shone bright in both the Princes Trust and WorldWise competitions. Well done Elliot, Toby and Reuben, for again coming out on top by winning the regional, prestigious Worldwise Trophy competition. And Erin and Bella were awarded 1st and 3rd place in the Bristol ‘Pollution to Solution’ competition with their work exhibited in the city.
In addition to all this, our students have attended a host of trips including ventures to Bug Land, Bletchley Park and the Bristol Teen Book Awards. A group of Classics students had the opportunity to participate in a study day at Redmaids school, plus we also attended the UoB Climate Change Mini Conference.
I extend my warmest wishes to all families observing Ramadan and Lent. As a school, we embrace and support the spiritual journey of our students and their families during this significant time.
As we reflect on these accomplishments and milestones, let us continue to foster a supportive and inclusive environment where every student can thrive and succeed. I am grateful for your ongoing support in our shared mission of nurturing young minds and shaping future leaders.
