Visit from author Moses McKenzie

This term we welcomed author Moses McKenzie to the Fairfield Family. He gave a fascinating workshop on creative writing, using thought-provoking questions and giving a number of analytical tips.

Moses focused on a You Tube clip ‘Moonlight Intro: On the Block with Juan’…. pausing a number of times to see what assumptions the students had made about the various characters, backgrounds, accents and props. The students were enthusiastic and vocal in their responses, with the session prompting them to delve deep to discover as much as possible from the limited sources available. They also learnt some valuable tips surrounding persuasive language and the ways people perceive themselves and others.
