‘Soundtrack your story’: a storytelling project with Jeffrey Boakye
The English department joined a fun, interactive storytelling workshop for National Storytelling Week with author and broadcaster Jeffrey Boakye (pictured below), for students in Years 8 and 9. Jeffrey Boakye is the author of ‘Musical Truth,’ one of our Y8 tutor reading books.
Based on the theme ‘Soundtrack your story’, the project is designed by the National Literacy Trust to inspire a love of story creation through music and rhythm.
The workshop with Jeffrey was an exciting, live workshop encouraging pupils to make connections between music, lyrics and storytelling. Pupils wrote on themes of social media, AI, and geopolitics, and enjoyed discussing favourite tracks, and what we would queue for 3 hours for.
