Silver Duke of Edinburgh award
On Friday 2nd July, Fairfield High School ran its first ever Silver expedition. 12 Year 11 students completed their training expedition in Exmoor. The two teams had to work together to plan and organise their expedition around Exmoor stopping off at given check points.
The students had to complete at least a minimum of three days, two nights and seven hours of planned activities each day. All of the students had to be unaccompanied and self-sufficient for the entire expedition. Students also had to plan an appropriate expedition menu, including cooking, and eating a substantial hot meal on each day.
Students will complete their qualifying expedition on Friday 16th July in Dartmoor. A huge congratulations and well done to all involved.
