Shape My City Talent Accelerator Programme

Back in September students in Year 10 and Year 11 were offered the opportunity to apply to be involved in a programme called Shape My City. This is an award-winning talent accelerator programme for 15-18 year olds run by Design West and aimed at students who may be aspiring to work within the following career pathways:

Environment, Design, Architecture, Public Art

Fairfield is proud to have seven students successful on this programme. The students involved will meet once a month for the duration of this academic year, where they will have the opportunity to participate in the following workshops and seminars:

• Work alongside Design Professionals

• Develop teamwork, confidence & communication skills

• Learn about a variety of career options in the design sector & pathways to success

• Be assigned a Mentor from a leading company to help with university applications & work experience

• Connect with other creative young people from across the city & begin to create life-long networks

• Go on site visits to inspiring buildings

We look forward to hearing the students’ accounts of what has happened at each workshop, which we will share with the Fairfield community.

A very well done to the students involved, this is a great opportunity for you all. It will not only add value to your CVs but hopefully put a foot in the right direction with a successful work experience placement in this field.
