Peripatetic Music Lessons
Peripatetic Music Lessons at Fairfield High School – New system for 2020-2021
Fairfield High School would like to offer the exciting opportunity for students to receive peripatetic music lessons. The lessons will now be pre-booked, termly in advance, and are delivered by a visiting professional and fully CRB checked peripatetic teacher.
Students can receive lessons in the following:
- Woodwind (Flute, Clarinet, Saxophone, Bassoon, Oboe)
- Strings (Violin, Cello)
- Brass (Trumpet, Trombone, French Horn)
- Piano / Keyboard / Songwriting
- Voice – Singing (Rapping / Beatboxing depending on interest)
- Electric Guitar / Electric Bass
- Acoustic Guitar / Ukulele
- Drums (Drumkit)
- Music Production – Ableton / Electronic Music (DJing depending on interest)
- Traditional African Drumming / Dancing & (Sikh and Islamic Drumming depending on interest)
The charge for this is £27 per hour. The school discounts the cost of lessons by 25% (usually £36 per hour). Parents sign up for and pay for lessons directly through Bristol Plays Music’s website and lessons are timetabled based on this.
Students receiving free school meals do not have to pay for their 1st choice instrument (the school will pay for them in full) but any extra instrument is charged at the normal fee. If a student receiving free lessons misses two or more in a term not related to absence, then we would be unable to continue to offer free lessons and they would therefore be taken off the timetable. The new system is now live and lessons can be purchased / booked by navigating to the following link and registering with Bristol Plays Music.
