Launch of inspirational #activefhs initiative
As part of Children’s Mental Health Week, the FHS EcoTeam has worked hard to bring this important initiative into fruition, alongside the incredibly supportive Sustrans and Living Streets (full details below). We are encouraging all students and staff to get out and about on a daily basis whether by foot, bike or scooter – any means within lockdown parameters, of course.
For every activity completed, participants are asked to share an interesting photo to depict the theme of the fortnight – currently this is Nature and Colour. These can be done via Instragram and/or Twitter tagging @ec0team & @FHSBristol and featuring #activefhs. The reward being a huge physical and mental well-being boost money cannot buy!
Leader of the project Geography teacher Bobby Walker comments: “I am over the moon to be launching what I believe to be the best and most important initiative the school has ever taken part in! The pandemic offers the ideal time to take stock of our environment together with our own physical and mental health. This is an excellent way of urging the local community to get out and about before sharing their efforts to encourage others. Well done to our EcoTeam for continuing to amaze and inspire me.”
