Health & Social Care and Child Development students take part in careers session with Paramedics and Midwives
Year 10 GCSE Health & Social Care and Child Development students were visited by Paramedics, a Doctor and Midwives who delivered a session on their role within the healthcare sector.
During the Paramedic session, students were able to take each other’s blood pressure using a blood pressure monitor and discussed the basics of first aid.
During the Midwife session, students looked at equipment used to deliver babies and how midwives support babies and mothers before, during, and after giving birth.
Both sessions allowed students to ask the practitioners questions about their role and routes into the careers.
This was a great opportunity for the students studying subjects in this sector.
