Culture Day Celebrations demonstrate how different identities matter
Following the success of the previous Culture Day, Team Fairfield held another at the end of last year. There was a strong influence from students, seeing our first ever student led fashion show, with participants and audience members from the then Year 10 cohort, as it would be their last opportunity to participate in this celebration.
The whole school including staff were able to experience a live Globe From Home opportunity, where we virtually visited a market in Egypt, as well as a factory talking about ‘fast fashion’, how to be more sustainable and the importance of recycling clothing. Over 800 students were able to experience this unique opportunity.
We also enjoyed cultural food from Jamaica, India and various parts of Asia – as a tasting opportunity for all students and staff.
This Culture Day was really a reflection of how much our different identities matter and why we want students and staff to feel seen and heard.
