Ovid Competition
We were proud to take three students Alba, Maisy and Maggie to an event at Bristol University where, as part of the Ovid competition, they were required to put their creative juices to the test by portraying a Greek myth.
The invitation to the competition was a real accolade as the young people were narrowed down out of the Fairfield entries, where they joined other students from regional schools in the final, held in the very grand Great Hall at the University of Bristol.
Well done to:
- Alba – Fairfield Winner – Narcissus picture.
- Maisy – Fairfield Runner Up – Narcissus biscuits (I tried one – they were really tasty!)
- Maggie – Fairfield Runner Up, and Highly Commended by the judges – 3D model of Achilles’ heel
The girls’ parents were also invited and, considering the competition was for students in Years 7-9 and these finalists were only in Year 7, this is even more impressive.
We look forward to an even higher number of entries next year.
