City Hall event highlights amazing projects across Bristol, including contribution of Fairfield’s ecoteam
On Thursday 3rd October Dylan in Year 11 attended an event at City Hall arranged by Bristol City Council. It was round table event including Councillors, local businesses and people involved in climate based projects around Bristol. The purpose was to gather the thoughts of young people to inform National Government’s position looking ahead to COP 29 in Azerbaijan later this year. Dylan summarised the achievements of the school’s ecoteam and presented some “asks” of the council which arose from our participation in the Inter-Climate Network survey of Bristol schools (to which Fairfield was the biggest single contributor with roughly one third of the total responses).
The event was highly successful, with Dylan commenting: “The event at City Hall was a really interesting insight into the amazing projects being done across Bristol. It was a really incredible experience to meet all the people involved. It’s very clear and great to see that there is a wide variety of people from all different backgrounds, cultures, sexualities, genders and more who are interested in and actually taking action in helping the environment and I can’t wait to see what comes from it.”
Thank you to Dylan for their outstanding contribution and representing Team Fairfield so well.
